DHIYO is a personal Android launcher and assistant built and operated by Tejas Badvaram (Channapatna, Karnataka, India). It is used by its owner and a small number of invited people. This page explains what DHIYO can access, why, where that data goes, and how to remove it.
The short version
- DHIYO reads your data only to do what you ask, when you ask.
- Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to train AI models.
- Sending an email, creating an event, placing a call or any other action that can't be undone always waits for your explicit "yes".
- You can disconnect any service or delete your account at any time.
What DHIYO can access, and why
| Data | Used for | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Gmail (read and send) | Answering questions about your mail; sending replies you approve | Read on request; not stored by DHIYO |
| Google Calendar (events) | Telling you what's coming up; adding events you approve | Read on request; not stored by DHIYO |
| Notifications (if you allow it) | "What did I miss?" across your apps | On your phone only, last 24 hours, one-time codes hidden |
| Contacts and call history | Understanding "call Priya" and similar requests | On your phone only |
| Microphone | The optional "Hello DHIYO" wake word and spoken requests | Wake word is detected on the phone; no audio is recorded or uploaded for it |
| Your Google account name and email | Signing in to your DHIYO account (optional) | DHIYO's cloud database (Mumbai, India) |
Services DHIYO uses
- Anthropic (Claude) answers your questions. When you ask something, the question and only the context needed to answer it (for example the emails you asked about) are sent to Anthropic's API, using your own API key.
- Google provides Gmail, Calendar, speech recognition and the optional natural voice (Text-to-Speech).
- Supabase (servers in Mumbai, India) hosts the optional DHIYO account: your devices, the list of services you connected, and app updates.
Connected accounts and your devices
If you sign in and link a Google account, DHIYO keeps Google's long-lived permission for that account encrypted in its cloud vault, so your other signed-in devices (for example DHIYO on your PC) can use it without asking you to sign in again. Your devices never receive that permission itself; they receive short-lived access (about one hour) only while they are active in your account. Your Google password is never seen or stored by DHIYO.
Google user data
DHIYO's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the features you use in DHIYO; it is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features (such as sending your question to the AI service you use) or as required by law, and not read by any person unless you ask for help with a specific problem and agree to it.
Keeping it secure
- API keys and sign-in tokens on the phone are encrypted with a key held in Android's hardware-backed Keystore.
- All connections use encryption in transit (HTTPS).
- In the cloud, each person can only ever reach their own records.
Your choices
- Disconnect a service: DHIYO โ Settings โ Account & connections โ Remove. You can also revoke DHIYO's access at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- Sign out: DHIYO keeps working on your phone without an account.
- Delete everything: email the address below and your account, devices and connections are deleted from DHIYO's cloud within 7 days. Uninstalling DHIYO removes everything stored on your phone.
Children
DHIYO is not intended for anyone under 18.
